It’s Time To Make Your Dream A Reality

Issue #12

Earlier this week, I read a post about pursuing dreams the way you play chess – silently until you’ve reached the end and are ready to say “checkmate.”

I love a good analogy, and that leads me to this week’s lesson.

Keep Your Cards Close To Your Chest

When we finally decide to pursue a big dream or goal, in our excitement to get started, we often share our dream too loudly and with too many people.

I believe we were all given a gift at birth, and it’s our responsibility to uncover it, and then share it with the world … eventually. At the start, it’s best to remember it was given to YOU for a reason, and not everyone may fully understand it.

What I’ve found works best – as I’ve turned many of my dreams into realities over the years – is to chose one or two trusted family members or friends who believe in you AND who will hold you accountable once you get started.

Big dreams are always a little bit scary, but the only way to conquer fear is with action. Having a friend in your corner cheering you on and reminding you that you do have what it takes to make it to the finish line when the doubt creeps will make all of the difference.

What’s your big dream or goal?

And what’s been keeping you from making it a reality?

There’s no time like the present to get started. And if you want some extra help, you can download my free Take the Leap workbook here.
