What’s Your Superpower?

Issue #22

Happy Friday!! I hope you’re ready for the holidays and looking forward to some downtime and fun-filled festivities next week.๐ŸŽ‰

For those who have been with me on this newsletter journey from the start, this is issue #22!! ๐Ÿคฉ And because of that I wanted to make this issue extra special, so we’re going to focus on superpowers. ๐Ÿฆธ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

We all have them, but sometimes we’re not fully aware of them because they’re usually tied to something that comes easily and/or naturally to us. But if we can identify them and make them a part of our daily lives, amazing and wonderful things can and will happen.๐ŸŒŸ

Do you know what your superpowers are?

One of mine is consistency, and was pointed out to me yet again at the start of the year by a friend (sidetone – close friends are great people to ask if you’re struggling to uncover your own superpowers). I like to think that part of it stems from being a full-blown Taurus. ๐Ÿ˜‚ When I set my mind to do something, it’s getting DONE. As I’ve gotten older and wiser, I’ve learned to work smarter, not harder, and as a result am able to stay on top of all of my commitments by planning well and not over-extending myself.

On of the ways I work “smarter” to stay consistent and make sure I see things through to the end (yes, I do have those moments where I’m ready to throw in the towel) is with an accountability buddy. The reason this newsletter comes out weekly, and I haven’t missed an issue is because of a friend who encouraged me and that I gave permission to hold me accountable.

As we approach the end of the year, this is the time I like to reflect on both the blessings and the challenges and determine what gets to follow me into the New Year. My accountability buddy will definitely carry over, and I’ve committed to a second one to focus on another area of my life where I could use a little push.

In the hopefully quieter weeks ahead, I’d encourage you to reflect on your year as well: what went well, what didn’t, what did you love doing, what would you rather not do anymore, when and where did you feel your best… Once you’ve gotten clear, make a plan to put your superpowers to better use in the New Year. And then make a commitment to yourself to make it happen. If you need a little extra help (we’re all human after all), ask a trusted friend to be your accountability buddy to make sure you stay committed. ๐Ÿ’
