Who Could You Be Inspiring Without Even Realizing It?

Issue #36

If you had some big goals and to do’s set to kick off the year, I hope you’re making good progress. And if you’re not as far along as you hoped to be, please keep going because you never know who you’ll end up inspiring by seeing it through.

Which brings us to today’s lesson…

Act Like Someone Is Always Watching

And I don’t mean this in a creepy stalker kind of way. I mean it in “you have no idea who your journey is having a positive impact on” kind of way.

Over the past two years, I’ve been working on a fairly big project behind the scenes, and have been riding the ebb and flow that comes with feeling like I’ll never get to the finish line. But in those moments when it no longer feels worth the effort, someone I didn’t know was paying attention pops in and reminds me that the work that I’m doing is valuable and will matter to a whole lot of people once complete.

And in the era of the never ending social media stream, if you’re posting, people are paying attention. I often forget that just because they haven’t liked a post doesn’t mean they haven’t seen it. I was reminded of this earlier this week when my aunt called for an update on my mom (she’s under the weather, but doing ok). Before we hung up she said “I’ve been reading all of your posts and I just wanted to say how proud I am of you and everything you’re doing.”

Sometimes, when we don’t see the immediate impact of our efforts, we forget that the ripple effect is still often happening.

So, if you need a little motivation to get back on the horse or kick it up a notch as we enter the second quarter, let this be it. 😍 Your gift, your story, your journey, and your lessons and successes aren’t just meant for you. They’re meant to inspire the rest of us too to say “see, if she can do it, so can I.” 🙌🏼 🙌🏽
